Key connects between HR and CSR were explained….and the role of employee volunteering in CSR as part of HR reinforced.
Corporate volunteering is key to motivate and enrich staff and when it engages with CSR / NGOs, they begin to understand how their hard work leads to not just profits for the employer, but there’s also tremendous give back to the community via CSR (funds for which are linked to hard work of the staff). This latter understanding can be a game changer for staff motivation and happiness, with clear links to enhanced productivity and retention.
In all this we must remember to bill volunteering expenses to HR / company and not to CSR under Section 135 Companies Act 2013.
